The world has been around billions of years and humanity for thousands. In our existence, we’ve created many ideals and opinions about how society should work. Many think that only those who already have much deserve more. Some believe it will trickle down. Some believe in equal distribution. However, we’re not talking about those. We’re talking about about liberalism.
Liberals have existed for quite a while, and are rarely certain who to support. They can now discern a bad leader, but only one they disagree with. They support terrorism under Obama, but not Bush. They hate capitalism, but they support it to the very end. They care about human rights no more than any other imperialist. Liberalism has only been on the up and up, and it’s invaded leftist thought.
Have you looked at the Communist Party of the United States of America? The CPUSA is not looking good. Not since 1984 has it put out a candidate. Of course, leftism is not about candidacy, yet this is somewhat of a disgrace. They used to publicly and boldly state their opinions. Everyone knew what they stood for, with supporters such as Woody Guthrie (who never joined the party), and in his younger years, Pete Seeger. At the year the party started, they had as many as 60,000 active members. Many non-leftists stood with them against National Socialism. Yet in 2008 and 2014, they stood with Democrats in support of imperialist Obama. What happened?
Democrats have always been called communists. Especially since the Cold War. McCarthyism brought an unwarranted red fear to the US. (Ironically, Truman also called McCarthy the Kremlin’s greatest asset. See the first link of the paragraph.) Due to this, socialism became a bad word, and so did liberalism. Liberals began to incorrectly identify themselves with socialist struggle. Democrats now think that the term is short for “democratic socialist.” Just look at Bernie Sanders, the man thinks he’s a socialist revolutionary.
We’ve begun to just sit back and let them be wrong. Is it true? No, it’s not. But it’s our fault for refusing to refute. The longer we’re silent, the more we’ll be misrepresented. The more we’ll see hipsters walking out of Starbucks wearing a Che t-shirt but despising the USSR. The less we’ll be taken seriously. We’ll let them pollute our thought, actions, until true Marxism is no more. Socialism, communism, and anarchism will all die together. Comrades, we can prevent this. Liberalism will never be socialism, but they might kick socialism until it’s at the same level. It’s a sad reality, but it’s one that we can change. It doesn’t have to be this way. That starts with you.
